Falcon Youth Football

Falcon Youth Football is a program jointly sponsored by the Wilbraham Parks and Recreation Department (WPRD) and the Falcon Youth Football Association (FYFA).
 




Registration: May 31 - June 12 (see details below)


REGISTRATION PROCESS:
Step 1 (for WPRD): Player registration can be done online at wilbrahamrec.com
Step 2 (for FYFA): Complete the FYFA new OR returning player packet (found below, under 'Additional Forms and Files'), and turn it in to FYFA at either of the two Equipment Pick Up Events (dates are TBA)

REGISTRATION FEES AND DATES:
Registration: May 31 – June 12, $150
Late Registration: on or after June 13 – $150 + $50 Late Fee

FYFA EQUIPMENT PICK UP DATES (YOU ONLY NEED TO GO TO ONE):
#1 - Thursday, July 21 from 6-8pm at the lower level of the Spec Pond Concession Stand
#2 - TBA

The following items MUST be submitted when you attend the FYFA Equipment Pick Up Event:
1. SAFL Registration Form
2. Code of Conduct
3. FYFA Equipment Loan Form
4. Copy of player's birth certificate

Player registration is not complete until all paperwork and registration fees are paid to Wilbraham Parks and Recreation AND the Falcon Youth Football Association.

EQUIPMENT & VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:
- Each family must sign and return the FYFA Equipment Loan Form. This form confirms your financial liability if all equipment is not returned on the designated date and in good condition at the end of season.
- Each family is asked to volunteer for at least 3 hours throughout the course of the season. Volunteers are critical for the operation of the program.

REFUND POLICY: Football is an expensive sport to participate in, and like other activities and/or sports you or your child may partake in, there is the chance you may be unhappy with the WPRD, the coach, the program, etc. Unfortunately, once registration ends on June 12 THERE ARE NO REFUNDS NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCE.

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:
  • School Choice and non-Wilbraham residents: The FYFA will pay your $25 non-resident fee
  • Scholarships may be available - please contact fyfafootball@gmail.com for more information
  • All players must be registered prior to August 1
  • Once registered you will be added to the FYFA contact list and will be regularly updated on all items and events going forward

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
PROVIDED BY FYFA: The following are provided and issued by FYFA for use of the participant

-Shoulder pads
-Helmet & chin strap
-Game jersey
-Game pants
-Practice jersey

PROVIDED BY PLAYER: These items must be purchased by the parent/guardian, they are required for the participant

-Football pants for practice
-Football cleats - molded, with non-metal and non-removable cleats
-Mouth guard
-Athletic supporter and cup

KEY DATES:
  • July 21 - Equipment Pick Up Event #1 from 6-8pm at the lower level of the Spec Pond Concession Stand
  • TBA – Equipment Pick Up Event #2 at the Spec Pond Concession Stand
  • August 1 – Practice Begins (practice is held 3 -5 times per week at the discretion of the coach)
  • August 11 – Weigh-in at Greenwood Center located at 231 Maple Rd. in Longmeadow, 7:00pm. If a player misses SAFL weigh-ins he will play as an “over” player (lineman).
  • September 2022 – Games start Labor Day Weekend and Playoffs run into mid-November. (Generally JV games are on Saturday and Varsity games are on Saturday/Sunday)
